SCOTT; AKRON, OHIO. 17" overall, 11.5" clip point blade, 2" wide, .33" thick, 4" beveled clip, saber ground, 4" "S" shaped cross guard, sculpted bulbous octagonal rosewood handle, octagonal brass pommel cap, brass ferrule, leather sheath. Attribution is made based on close similarity in materials & to the D.A. SCOTT signed knife in previous lot. CONDITION: knife is very fine, blade retains most of its original polish & luster, scattered staining & light pitting, very sharp with few very small nicks, handle is fine. Sheath is unsewn at edge, shrunk and has about half inch gap at throat. PROVENANCE: James R. Johnston collection. (02-26011/JS). NON-GUN. $5,000-7,000.
